This foot trail passes through beautiful Himalayan valleys, dense green forests covered with Rhododendron forests and icy waterfalls where you can stop to cool your tired body which is also the main drinking sources of Himalayan Villages. During this trek, every point has a mesmerizing glimpse of the high Annapurna & Dhaulagiri mountain ranges parallelly in-front of your eyes.
This region falls under the Annapurna Region and is the first protected conservation area in Nepal the name Annapurna Conservation area project(ACAP) started in 1986. It covers an area of 7,629 sq. km. and is home to over 100,000 residents of different cultural and linguistic groups. ACAP is rich in biodiversity and is a treasure house for 1,226 species of flowering plants, 102 mammals, 474 birds, 39 reptiles and 22 amphibians.
There are several features that make the Annapurna region a unique place in the world. It contains world’s deepest river gorge – Kali Gandaki Gorge, which is 3 miles long and 1.5 miles wide, a valley with fossils from the Tethys Sea dating 60 million years ago. The region contains world’s largest rhododendron forest in Ghorepani. Tilicho lake, located in Manang – north of Annapurna massif, is the world’s highest altitude freshwater lake. While trekking this route you can view the different Himalayan ranges like Mt. Annapurna, I, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Gangapurna and Annapurna South. Further views of the mountainous area include amazing panoramic scenes of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre, Lamjung Himal, Tukuche Peak and third highest mountain in the world Mt. Dhaulagiri. You will also pass through beautiful Nepali villages from the ethnic communities Gurung’s and Magar’s who are very rich in their own culture, tradition, and Language. DAY 1-POKHARA DRIVE TO NAYAPOOL - TREK TO ULLERI (1960M): L/D
The first day we will drive from beautiful Pokhara city to Nayapool which is gateway to Annapurna region. We will start our trek by following east bank of Modi river and crossing Birethati. The stone trail climbs steadily up the side of the valley to reach Hile and after some hours of trek, we will reach Ulleri village full of Magar ethnic culture & lifestyle. One of the best place to view Annapurna South and Hiunchuli.
DAY 2-ULLERI TO GHOREPANI (2860M): B/L/D
This morning after breakfast, we will again start our trek continues to the larger Magar Village of Ulleri and reached Banthanti. Beyond Banthanti the trail enters the magnificent Oak and Rhododendron forests crossing the sparkling clear streams before reaching to Ghorepani village.
DAY 3-SUNRISE UP TO POONHILL (3200M) AND TREK TO TADAPANI (2630M): B/L/D
Early morning 45 minutes hike from Ghorepani to enjoy beautiful sunrise is a must to activity. This is a spectacular sunrise over beautiful Annapurna & Dhaulagiri Himalayan ranges, most of the ranges are over 7800 Metre and one of the range Mt. Annapurna I is 8091 Metre. The walk begins by ascending up through the rhododendron forest, towards a hilltop called Deurali. Then we go downhill to Tadapani for the overnight.
DAY 4: TADAPANI TO GHANDRUK VILLAGE (1940M) / KOT DANDA: B/L/D
This morning after the breakfast we will hike down gently all the way through rhododendron & oak dense forest with different kinds of birds chirping on the way to Ghandruk Village. This is one of the most popular destinations for the bird watchers as well. Ghandruk is a traditional Gurung village with friendly, welcoming people who will entertain us with their heart-warming hospitality. There are handicraft center and Gurung museum where we can learn more about these incredible people and their history. We will stay overnight at either Kot Danda or Ghandruk village.
DAY 5: GHANDRUK/ KOT DANDA TO TOLKA VILLAGE (1700M): B/L/D
Depart Kot Danda after early morning breakfast and stunning sunrise view. We will head towards another beautiful Landruk village and descend steeply to the Modi River. After some hours of trek, we will reach to Tolka Village for our overnight stay.
DAY 6: TOLKA TO AUSTRALIAN CAMP: B/L/D
After some hour sightseen at Tolka village which is situated on the foothills of Annapurna Himalayan range with full of scenic beauty we will continue our Trek to Australian camp near by Dhampus village. After a full day trek, we will stay overnight at one of the best destinations to view the sunrise and Himalayan view at Australian Base Camp.
DAY 7: AUSTRALIAN CAMP- DHAMPUS VILLAGE/ ASTHAM VILLAGE TO POKHARA: B/L
This day early morning we will view the spectacular sunrise view over Annapurna Dhaulagiri range, the culturally rich Dhampus village, and Astham Village.
