Tsum Valley, also known as Beyul Kyimolung is a secret holy valley of bliss, as described by Guru Rimpoche (Padmasambhava) in the 8th century. And now, 13 centuries later, Tsum Valley still stands as the valley of bliss in every sense. The isolated Tsum Valley was opened to the tourists only in 2007 AD which lies in the historic city of northern Gorkha District of Nepal and some part of its trip is included in Manaslu trek.
The region has its own unique visiting spots and different cultural experiences related to Tibetan Buddhism. We can encounter the 8th highest peak in the world ‘Manaslu’ while doing this trek and many other beautiful peaks throughout your journey. The trail is decorated with lots of Tibetan flags, chortens, monasteries and mani walls made of lots of stone slabs engraved with drawings of mythical deities and prayers passing incredible waterfalls.
The Tsum Valley locals have their own unique festivals to celebrate like Saka Dawa, Lhosar and Dhachyang – the festival of Horses during which beautifully decorate horses participate in the race during December- January. whereas Saka Dawa is all about celebration commemorating the birth, enlightenment, and demise of Lord Buddha in May every year. Locals have also claimed an Encounter with the yetis which is a great bonus surprise for the visitors. You will find the Himalayan villages between 2400m to 3700 m while exploring this region from the sea level.
