The Khopra Danda trek (also known as the Khopra Ridge trek) is a great alternative to the more popular and more crowded Ghorepani Poonhill trek, taking you higher still to another great viewpoint of the Annapurna. The Khopra Ridge is located away from the busier trails of Annapurna region but provides equally remarkable views of the Himalayas. Another attraction of our trek is the holy Kaire Lake, which requires a little wandering away from the Khopra Ridge.
Despite being in the heart of the popular Annapurna region, Khopra Ridge has only recently been developed as a trekking destination and is therefore less crowded than the more well-known trails in the area (at least for now!) The Khopra Ridge trek is particularly suitable for mixed ability trekkers looking for a week experience within easy road access of Pokhara. Trekkers can expect to amble through a variety of scenery – including vibrant rhododendron forests, terraced rice fields, and alpine landscapes. Along the way, trekkers can catch a glimpse of local wildlife and experience panoramic views of iconic Himalayan, such as Mount Dhaulagiri (8167 m), Nilgiri (7061 m), Bharha Shikhar (7647 m) and Annapurna I (8091 m). The teahouses dotted along the trail will provide a welcome rest at the end of the day, as well as a rare glimpse into the culture of the warm and hospitable Gurung communities who manage them.
